GenCon Reflections Part 1: A Humble Bard Overwhelmed
After GenCon, the Dead Gents returned home to Washington, Ohio, and California completely exhausted and thoroughly energized. The gaming world had been riddled with hemming, hawing, and gut-busting laughter as our cast roled the die in GDR’s ‘Making Of’. Your enthusiasm for The Gamers: Dorkness Rising at GenCon was like Bill Cosby saying ‘Puddin’ Pop’ - a ridiculously perfect union.
Below is the first of two installments from GDR’s own Scott C. Brown (Leo). He’s still recovering from his adventures, and promises the action packed details in Round 2. Fight!
Well folks, I attended my very first GenCon, and I must say that it was very, very awesome. Thank you to all those who took the time to say hello, stop and chat with me, and just made me feel very welcome. We have the best fans in the world, I am certain of that! And also the most polite fans, as there were times when the booth was swamped, or how about the Dorkness screening, where scores of very patient people waited to see the second screening. I mean, c’mon, there is no way that there are better fans than ours!
‘The Gamers’ screening we had on Thursday night was the first time I had seen it with a large audience, and man, I could feel the energy in the room. What a great reaction! And, even though I have seen it a number of times, as many of you have, ‘The Gamers’ still seemed fresh, vibrant and new.
Well, I am about ready to head off and direct a play version of The Beverly Hillbillies in Enumclaw, WA. So, I will say good-bye for now, but will return later with other nuggets and adventursome tales of my experience at GenCon.
Thank you all again for your wonderful support, and making me feel very welcome into the world of Dead Gentlemen and the Gamers movies!
Cheers,
Scott C. Brown
